Watch Top - Watchmaker’s Bench Top

Meet the Watch Top: our vision of the watchmaker's bench top. Inspired by the need for an affordable, purpose-built workbench, the Watch Top is first and foremost the bench for the everyman. What began as a product of necessity later became a calling. All watchmakers, whether by passion or profession, deserve a proper bench. The Watch Top is made by a watchmaker, for watchmakers.

The foundation of the Watch Top is inherently the tabletop itself. Crafted from a fifty inch (50") by twenty-five inch (25") by one-point-five inch (1.5") Maple butcher block top, the Watch Top undergoes several modifications the watchmaker will be sure to appreciate. These include the milled center section on the front side, later serving as the forefront of the bench top and the mounting positions for its armrests. The next involves forming and installing the Watch Top's guard trim around the perimeter of the surface, alleviating much of the risk of falling parts or tools from its edges. High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) paneling on the top surface withstands wear and tear and is sure to hold up to use for many years to come.

Designed and built with ergonomics in mind, the Watch Top is tailored to the needs of the watchmaker. In contrast to the long hours spent behind a rudimentary desk or tabletop, we envisioned a large, dedicated bench top with features typically only seen in professional, top-end workbenches. Mounted on either side via the use of pivoting brackets, the fully adjustable padded armrests provide a great deal of comfort and stability while working.

The Watch Top comes ready to be mounted atop any desk frame or cabinet base. We recommend an elevated, motorized standing desk to affect the very best that the Watch Top has to offer. However, as every watchmaker's bench is unique, you may see fit to utilize the Watch Top in differing ways.
